U14's Black vs Ipswich

.

Coaches Report:

.

After a disjointed week with the weather we travelled to Coorparoo to take on Ipswich. They beat us early in the season after coming down a division but with our improvement I thought we could really give them a fright. For three quarters we played great and had them within striking distance but we made a few errors in the last quarter which let them in and the score blew out. The effort showed in attacking the ball especially in the first three quarters was very pleasing against a team which had some genuine div 1 players twice as big as our boys.
.
Thanks to Wayne and the Gold team for releasing two extra eligible players to cover for our injuries and illness. Callum and Cooper did a great job in the ruck with very limited experience in the position. Jamie had numerous possesions all over the park and seemed to enjoy his time on the ball. Running the ball out of defence and linking up to the best option continues to improve every week. All members of the team now understand the huddle which gives Oscar or Elliot at fullback confidence in kicking to space.
.
Well done to Campbell for showing character and not wanting to leave the field after a heavy knock. A couple of their bigger players tried to muscle up all day but even our smallest players tackled hard whenever required.
A lot of positives to take out of the game but still plenty of room for improvement so I will see everyone at training this week.
.
Thanks
Brad.
