U12's Match Report

Redcliffe vs Sandgate

Sunday 24th May 2015

Well today we started off not following the team instructions asked of us which let us down in the first quarter, we failed to follow the team rules of putting our head over the ball and our bodies on the line which showed on the score board.

The second quarter started off better for us with harder running at the ball and putting our bodies on the line for our team mate's and our team moving forward. However we lapsed back into old habits by chasing kicks and playing like our opposition.

The third quarter 'The premiership quarter' as they say after some structural changes started as we should have played for the whole game, we followed all the team rules and played with commitment and endeavour and finished off the hard work done from the back line with kicking goals with lots of forward pressure.

The last quarter was a very physical contest with all players playing for their team mate's and continue to carry out the team rules. Our back line was strong with Billy setting up the wall through the half back line, followed by Adam setting up the full back line thus allowing Sandgate to only score 2 behinds in the last quarter. Harry, Byron, Issy & Scotty set the play up through the middle, Pepps, Lewis , Trev & Taki worked well off the wings in moving the ball forward, Bailey and Josh worked well as forward  options and applying plenty of forward pressure causing Sandgate to make mistakes in their back line. Overall it was a great team effort and always good to come away with a win.

Don't get carried away with the win, let's move forward and get down to training on Wednesday night for some more work on the track and be ready for next week.

Well done boys.

Matt Nikl
