After a positive training session on Anzac day we looked forward to Saturdays challenge against Wynnum. With good weather predicted the focus was to stay in tune with our own structures and work ethics and ignore the fact the opposition had been beaten easily in the first 2 rounds. A strong start in the reserves game set the tone early and although the goals were coming quickly Wynnum were still providing a willing contest at the cold face. With a great team effort across the board it was great to see a good performance after the previous weeks result against Kenmore. With another positive week on the track and a strong focus on accountability on and off the field the Structural Concrete Sleepers Reserves should be in a good position to provide a strong effort at home against Robina

After a good preparation The Jetts Seniors took to the park with a resolve to work hard first and let the rest unfold. Whilst 8 goals in the first quarter is always pleasing it was more the work rate and contested possession that spoke well for the sides attitude. Wynnum rallied in the second quarter and managed to bring the game to a standstill at times as they appeared to be focused on shutting down our run. This was frustrating to watch but after a quiet yet focused half time break the game was again on our terms with all players contributing well across the park. A big win was potentially on offer and it was pleasing to see both grades capitalize on the situation. This week’s opponent in Robina will not be so easy to overcome but with close to our best side available it will be attitude and commitment to each role that will determine the outcome. Thanks to all the helpers for the support and we look forward to another big crowd this Saturday.
