Tigers get up in a scrappy contest

With the unveiling of the new clubrooms the Tigers had alot to play for in both grades when they hosted Beenleigh on the home turf.

With the long standing rivalry we knew Beenleigh would turn up to play. The early parts of the game proved to be an arm wrestle with both teams having their fair share in the possession stakes.

One change this week was releasing Springer (Nick Spring) out of his usual backline domain and he proved he's ability at both ends of the field being very lively up forward kicking a couple of handy goals after he had a tough week on a personal level.

Josh Bond was at it again with his bullocking ability up front kicking very accurately with 4 goals for the day. David Cook a welcome addition into the side this year was making sure he was involved all over the ground and creative up forward with 2 goals of his own as was Stevie Helliwell with a goal himself. Aaron Kingdon and Dave McInnes two of our bigger forwards were creating contests for us and making sure we got the footy bringing it to ground level. Ricky Milligan had his super glue hands going again marking every ball within his reach also getting on the goal kicker list for a single.  After a working stint away we have been enjoying having Aaron Richardson back in the team who was really busy around the ground getting his bit of leather poisoning. Damian "Tagger" Lee was good again getting his job done. moving into the backline who had plenty of work to do, Tyson Brown was stepping on his opponents tail all day getting fist to ball and clearing the ball well out of our back half. Seth Lauze, Jacob Lal and Jye Davis three more great pick ups for us this year were providing heaps of run out of the back half and driving the ball deep into our forward line giving us every opportunity to convert. Also Pete Furness, Gary Spencer and Tyler Hayes were using the ball with smarts and head over it style attack on the footy. Across the middle once again working tirelessly  Dan Rolls getting first hand on the ball at the stoppages and standing tall around the ground, and under him with Benny Foley and Marcus Gregory and Conor Cronin making headway on the wings.

It was the win we were after and the 4 points that came with it. Plenty more work to do but a great way to look back and remember the day we got the social rooms back. See you at training Tuesday lads!
