An open letter to all involved and interested with the Redcliffe Tigers AFL.
As most of you know due to poor turnover and other financial issues involved with the licenced club, the Redcliffe Tigers AFL Sporting Club Inc. went into liquidation.
Since then a group interested in continuing to support AFL on the peninsula and surrounding areas, along with the Moreton Bay Regional Council have been working on re-establishing a club at the grounds at Rothwell.
A new constitution has been drafted which will be presented and approved at a meeting of the initial steering group on Monday night.
Once approved the new Redcliffe Tigers Club will call for nominations for a new Committee.
As part of the re-establishment process, formal Committee positions and job descriptions have been drafted, together with an application form and will be made available to all interested parties on request.
The new Club will no longer have the poker machines, nightly meals, Keno or be open daily.
Going forward it will be a pure football club that will operate for the benefit of it’s members and not for profit.
Most of the clubhouse equipment has been acquired by a club benefactor and will be donated back to allow us to start again as seamlessly as possible. This involves the entire bar, chairs, TV’s, Honour Boards, Trophy cabinet, kitchen equipment, plus most of the club essentials and football equipment.
At this stage the Council have not given permission to access upstairs or even the grounds, and are not likely too unless we can show that we can operate in a sound financial manner.
The new Club now needs your support! We need to show the council that we can form a functioning committee, we need to show that we have the volunteers to support this committee and hence the Club. We need to provide evidence that we have the supporter base for this Club to thrive.
We need you at the Inaugural General Meeting, even just to show your support. We are hoping to have representatives from AFLQ, AFLBJ & MBRC at this meeting and your presence will demonstrate that we have the supporter base to be a successful club once again.
