U18's stumble in last game before finals

A trip down the road to Wilston was our assignment as we headed into the last game with 5th spot on the ladder sewn up.

A very tight tussle ensued from the opening bounce with neither side able to break clear. There was no indication either side were trying to hold back as both teams gave a good account early. The second quarter started promising enough but then the flood gates opened up as Wilston started to find space and hit targets. We were second to the ball and found ourselves 6 goals down at the half.

With minds maybe already thinking to next week we rallied and moved the ball forward but were unable to make inroads on their lead. Sam Munsie was having a blinder at full back and with Spooner collecting possessions at will there were good signs as we headed into the last quarter. With renewed intensity and vigour we outplayed Wilston in every facet except where it mattered.

With our elimination final at Uni this Sunday, we hope to see as many people down there as possible. We will be having a light week on the track to hopefully fine tune our game plan and to make sure we are all on the same page. We cannot afford any weak links come Sunday.
