Masters win hard fought match against local rivals

.
Redcliffe Masters hosted the Northern Stars (Caboolture) on Sunday and won a hard fought encounter by 4 points.

In a game that was quite physical, Redcliffe showed true grit in holding on in the last quarter.

The first two quarters were dominated by the Redcliffe midfield, Lino Taglieri, Tom McMahon and Ash Humphrey we're all dominating.

Robbo kicked the first goal of the game (and his first career goal), with Redcliffes ball usage more superior than Northern Stars early.
The wind was quite swirly and ensured that Northern Stars didn't capitalise on their chances in the second quarter.

Tags, Dario Cester and Ash Humphrey had to leave the game at half time to coach the under 16s, at that stage the three of them would have been Redcliffes best.

James Johnson moved into the midfield to help Tom and both were critical in winning the hard ball in the second half.

Dean Milstead moved from Centre Half Forward to Centre Half Back and was a steadying influence to the backline.

Dean Flynn tried hard all day and was very important in the final stages of the game with a second and third effort.

In the end Redcliffe won a game that could have gone either way, and ensured that the local rivalry would continue into the next they played.
