A slow start proved costly for the Masters in their clash against Alexandra Hills last Saturday night. Missing key players such as Dean Milstead, Shaun Dowell, Shayne Mackey, Bobby Templeman and Steve Brown, didn't help their cause. Injury to coach Brett Lane saw him warm the bench all night while Poppy copped a solid blow halfway through the game which slowed him down somewhat. After x-rays it's turned out to be a few broken ribs... Needing to borrow 4 players from the opposition, the Old Boys started to get their act together in the 2nd quarter and virtually went goal for goal for the rest of the game. It's a real credit to the guys the way they slugged it out. Ryno and Tags were solid performers all night, as was Big Woody who certainly let the Alex boys know they played a game of footy. Great to see Duff back to some form after returning from his rib injury and what's this, Scotty Stanford kicking 2 goals..? He wanted to get the goal in early to avoid the nuddie run at the end of the season, now you've done that, back to the backline for you big fella.
