The current junior committee have been working hard in stock taking, organizing equipment and coaches for season 2012. This committee has been committed to ensuring we have all the right equipment, resources and surroundings for ALL our players Under 8's to U16's, for them to achieve their goals.
With the numerous number of Representative players and (2) Lions Academy players in Liam Dawson and Jackson Dickfos this club has the right mix for greatness, but it comes down to the volunteers/parents of the club to continue the work of the Junior Committee, for their children coming through the ranks. It is only you the parents with your commitment that will make a difference in your child's life and other children's lives as you serve on a committee.
Every club is only successful if they have committed volunteers/parents step up to help. Many of the current Junior committee members have served over 10 years of service to the juniors of this club and some are moving on to Senior Football which is evident as their children move through the ranks.
I have enjoyed my 11years of Service to the Brisbane Juniors and the last 8 years to this club, as it had opened many doors of opportunity within the AFL Brisbane League and the Brisbane Lions as a woman in charge. The upside is, you do get to make great friends and also seeing the difference you can make by being on a committee.
I really hope you take this opportunity to get involved in a great club, as like any club it crumbles quickly without it's parents/volunteers.
Keep in mind every Junior committee member this year worked a full time job but managed to find time to fulfil the positions/office bearers, as required by the Brisbane Juniors to ensure our club and it's players were on track for the season.
If you are interested in any of the positions on the Office Bearers Form you can email me at: firstname.lastname@example.org
I wish to thank you for all your support and friendship over the years.
Yours in footy
