Wow what a fantastic night at Rothwell Park, a big thanks goes out to each and everyone of you who came down and supported the boys. Also a big thank you goes ...out to the volunteers who without their help we would be lost. Unfortunately Sandgate to their credit were the better team on the night but our boys held their own and they must be congratulated on what they achieved as many of them had not played together before. FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTY IS BACK!!!!!

From the Coach

Friday night football.

A big thank you goes out to everyone that came down to the club tonight to support the Tiger colts.
A nice size crowd turned up to witness a very entertaining game.
The result did not go our way but there are good signs for improvement going forward....
The fact that 30% of our team met for the first time tonight and played together as well as we did is significant.

SANDGATE were well drilled and played zone footy which made it hard for us to break the lines.
When we did we looked good.
Their midfeilders ran harder and were harder at the ball then us in the first half.
They tried to rough us up bit which we i think we responded gallantly.
A short lapse in the 2nd quarter is where they got away from us.
In the 2nd half we took it right up to Sandgate actually winning the 3rd quarter on the score board.
We raised the bar ,contested harder at the ball and nullified a few their playmakers.
Subconsciously i think our boys enjoy the rough stuff and respond accordingly.

Obviously our fitness level is far from where it needs to be. And game plan non existant in comparison to Sandgate.
We need to get everyone to training as a group and work on this.
10 to 13 at training wont cut it.
We need everyone 22 to 25 to get it right.

The 4 under 17 boys were a big help tonight in particular Lauchie Stewart and Elliot Bennett .
Thanks guys for your contributions they are very much appreciated .
I apologise to Angus and Oscar for limited opportunities tonite.

The extended bench tonight was very hard to manage and alot of guys missed out on game time. I apologise to those effected.
Two weeks ago we feared not having enough to feild a team and tonight we had 11 on the bench.

It was good first hit out and I'm sure we have got a lot of good out it.

We have the making of a good team with alot of talent. We need to work that talent hard if we want success.
