Dawso Makes AFL Senior Debut

Redcliffe Tigers Junior Champion, Liam Dawson has been selected in the Brisbane Lions team to play Essendon at Etihad on Sunday afternoon.

Words cannot describe how immensely proud the Redcliffe Tigers AFC are of Liam. From being a Junior/Youth player of the Redcliffe Tigers to now a Brisbane Lions Senior player.

The whole club, family and friends have been eagerly awaiting Liam's first game and come Sunday the Tigers will be supporting the young debutant from Redcliffe.

Well Done Liam. We're so looking forward to following what will be a very exciting career.

Go Dawso...!!!!

Liam Dawson will make his debut for the Lions against Essendon at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

MATCH PREVIEW: Bombers V Lions

Dawson, a Hyundai Help for Kids Lions Academy product, was taken in the 2014 NAB AFL Draft as an Academy Selection at pick 44.

The 19-year old was rewarded for consistent form in the NEAFL, he kicked four goals for the Reserves in last weekend’s loss to GWS at Coorparoo and had been listed as an emergency for the senior side for the past fortnight.

Reserves Coach, Shane Woewodin, told the Reserves Wrap earlier in the week that Dawson’s performance against the Giants was his best to date.

Dawson follows former players Joel Patfull (Lions) and Roger Merrett (Bears) as well as Vic Chanter and Tim Pekin from Fitzroy to have worn the number 24 jumper.

Tom Cutler is out with a minor ankle strain, he is expected to miss one match.

Ryan Harwood, Rohan Bewick and Mitch Golby have been listed as emergencies.
