Vale - Bob Cole Snr

The Redcliffe Tigers would like to convey their deepest sympathy to the family and friends of Bob Cole Snr who passed away peacefully last Friday, at the age of 80.

Bob Cole was Senior Trainer between 1979 to 1982.
Bob often held BBQs at his place after games when the Club had no clubhouse.

Past and present committee, parents and players offer our condolences to the Cole family.

U13's Match Report

It wasn’t a fantastic start to the weekend with our smallest number of player’s at training this week.

The Captain and vice-captains were finally announced this week congratulations to Lachlan Demko as Captain and to Callum Hill and Billy Gard as Vice-Captain’s.
The start to Sunday was met with a challenge for some parents finding the ground which was not the easiest to find I must admit.  Then to find there weren’t any change rooms, this didn’t help our preparation for the game.

Thank you goes out to our sponsor Ashfield Capital for our new jerseys.  These were presented to the players before the game.  Thank you also to Malone Hospital Services for provision of the team trophies for the end of the year.

We were very slow out of the blocks which saw us on the back foot and 6 goals down at half time. This was due to player’s not manning up, a lack of urgency to get to the contested ball and to being able to apply an effective tackle or to spoil the ball.

After the half time break it was clear the boys came out with a different mindset and started competing for the ball. This resulted in us scoring 3 goals in the third quarter and keeping the opposition to only 1.
The fourth quarter we dropped off again and Park Ridge got a couple of quick goals. We fought back to get a couple more goals. One of these I think deserves a mention, a fantastic banana kick from Sam F. Hearing everyone on the side line saying “how did he get that?” is a fantastic thing for a coach to hear.

                 1st Q    2ndQ    3rdQ    4thQ
Park Ridge   2.2      7.6       9.8      13.8-86
Redcliffe     1.2      1.2       5.2        7.3-45

We have now learnt as a team that we need to be ready to play right from the start of the game.
See you all training on Wednesday.

Peter
